Connect with community and learn from their stories
Storytellers is a project that supports sustainable tourism through a community and social transformative framework.
Rewarded the Recon Colombia award for Social Entrepreneurship in 2019 in the category of Peace and Human development, this project helps empower people in situations of vulnerabity to take control of their circumstances and connect with opportunity.
Since 2016 we have cocreated with communities in Medellín and around Colombia to help them be storytellers (local tour guides) or use the platform to empower their initiatives and entrepreneurships.
Our guides choose to actively support the social project where they received their storyteller formation.

Comuna 13 - San Javier
Local Comuna 13 residents share their stories of transformation as a marginalised community that converted into an amazing tourism destination thanks to the artistic expression of graffiti artists and the formation of Storytellers offering tours in English and empowering local initiatives.
In what was one of the most dangerous places in the city and the country fifteen years ago, a story of transformation and resilience is shared by the community. The history and culture of the commune are transmitted step by step, until you reach a taste of the local cuisine: homemade ice cream with Colombian fruits.
Comuna 1 - Santo Domingo
Santo Domingo is a commune of urbanisation and community resilience. Connected to the metrocable this tour gives you multiple perspectives to what is known as urban invasion and how that formed communited.
A viewpoint that gives a glimpse of Medellín. When ascending in the first Metrocable of the city, you can see from the sky the history of a neighborhood that began as a dream. A place full of art and community, where you will find the innovative Parque Biblioteca de España and the delicious empanadas de la Eterna Primavera.
Comuna 4 - Moravia
Moravia is a community of resilience situation on the old trash and recycling centre of Medellín. Formed by displaced people and new arrivals it celeberate a cultural diversity like no other neighbourhood.
Connect with various local initiatives and learn about the community through their eyes. Art, history, memory and transformation are themes that you can connect with while supporting the local community.
Santa Elena Subida
Santo Domingo is a commune of urbanisation and community resilience. Connected to the metrocable this tour gives you multiple perspectives to what is known as urban invasion and how that formed communited.
A viewpoint that gives a glimpse of Medellín. When ascending in the first Metrocable of the city, you can see from the sky the history of a neighborhood that began as a dream. A place full of art and community, where you will find the innovative Parque Biblioteca de España and the delicious empanadas de la Eterna Primavera.
From there you continue up the urbanisations of Medellín, passing distinct communities as you climb the skirting mountains and arrive to a lagoon. Relax in the space, maybe get a traditional lunch and head down through Arvi park.
Chorros de las campanas
An amazing trek that you can connect with the comprehensive public transport system and travel from the inner city out to Envigado and the natural paradise just ouside of the town limits. On this hike you will discover two waterfalls in the mountains of Envigado. There, you will have the opportunity to hike through a ravine and two mountains. A mixed trail that follows the natural watercourse and delivers you to some beautiful waterfalls and amazing natural scenes.
